Jeff Morgan
Hello all! My name is Jeff Morgan. I'm a senior this year and my major is political science. I'm very interested in politics and you will probably see me rushing out the door on Tuesday so i can go catch all the inauguration festivities. In my free time, I coach a youth basketball team, the Carrboro nuggets. The kids are 9 and 10, and so far this season we are 2-2. This is my second year coaching and hopefully we can win the title! This fall I will be moving to Washington D.C. with my girlfriend Lauren. I have plans to attend Georgetown law where I plan on focusing on the relationship between law and public policy. This blog post was a little late because I went to Denver this weekend to see family and remembered friday morning on the airplane about it! I am looking forward to this class and reading lots of great stuff.

Woops
YAH so this is late. Very sorry, and def agree with homegirl below that these blog things are a little too complicated, i guess im used to the elementary user-friendly style of fb. ANYWAY im Isaac Adams and play guitar (electric/acoustic) and recoJrd n write my own stuff, im on the club soccer team here at UNC and love basketball and track as well. I'm very into music and like all sorts of it. Love spending time with my friends here at UNC and am always out to have a great time. I also very much appreciate Jesus Christ saving my life; more so than i appreciate anything else. I'm hoping spring semester doesn't fly by, as fall went by in the blink of an eye. I'm a counselor for Carolina Kickoff (a camp for freshmen a couple days before UNC) and am doing other various activities around campus, mainly stuffing my face with Alpine. So, this is long, late, and hopefully entertaining, and let's talk about Wayne Ellington knocking down 7 (or 8?) 3's in a row yesterday againt miami, yes heels, we are amazing. holler :D
So... I'm a bit late... heh heh
Ok. So I didn't even know this was going to be due by midnight on Friday (what happened to that Thursday morning thing...?) BUT I will do it late anyways just because I like to put in my two cents about things. Neat. Um, ok. For one thing I am HORRIBLE with technology (which is tricky as far as this blogging thing goes...) but that's ok. I've been managing for a while. Uh... I am obsessed with almost anything (ok, probably EVERYTHING) that is produced by Judd Apatow or any of that little crew. I think they are hilarious and am proud to say that I have been a Freaks and Geeks fan since it came out forever ago. Um, I really really like television but don't currently have one (why are those things so expensive, even?) and I really love all the horrible shows that come on the CW (Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, etc.). I work out at the gym with my two suitemates who are two of my favourite people ever and I drink a lot of coffee (I like it black, but I totally don't judge anyone who likes it with cream and sugar. Don't worry.) I'm extremely talkative most of the time (as you can probably tell) and I think I'm either going to major in History, English or Journalism. Currently I am really into Vampire Weekend, Jens Lekman, Kanye West, Jay-Z, The Strokes (always and forever, man) and other such bands/rappers/whatever. Anyways, I realize this was tremendously long which is ridiculous because it's so late, but... whatevsies. It'll be ok.

Hallo
Hey there, my name's Mark Pieterson and I'm a freshman from Keller, TX; although I was originally born in Accra, Ghana and also lived in Greensboro, NC for 7 years. I am currently hoping to be a political science major and possibly double major in something interesting.
I suppose my love for reading drew me to this class and thus far I'm enjoying my time. Besides reading, I enjoy playing the guitar and consider myself to be a soccer (football) fanatic. I have an eclectic taste in music therefore writing out my favorite artists would be rather difficult.
I currently live in Spencer so if anyone wants to hang out, you know where to find me.

Hello
Hello everyone. My name is Otha Green and I am a senior History and Political Science major. I am from Rocky Mount, NC and I am an inspiring lawyer. I am currently busy doing applications and preparing to graduate from this wonderful institution.
Since I am lucky enough to be done with both of my majors and all of my perspectives, I can honestly say that I am taking this class just for the fun of it. I do enjoy reading, not so much writing, thus I chose to take this course.
Among many things that I do, I love to referee all kinds of sports. With that said, I work for Campus Recreation and would not be surprised if you have seen me ref or if I have reffed your game. I also do middle school and high school basketball as well. I like it so much, I earned a bid to the National tournament for flag football in New Orleans this past winter break. I went down (over New Year's) and reffed at the tournament so well that I was given an All-American Award (given to the top 16 refs in the country), and spent New Year's on Bourbon Street.
Well that's me. I hope we have a good semester and I get to know many of you.

Hey y'all! I am Emily and I'm a senior History major. This fall I will begin graduate school in order to obtain a Master's of Social Work (Sarah--> SW is one of the easiest grad schools to get into. Just so you know :)). I took this class because I love literature and I have a lot of elective credits to fill before I graduate. I've set a goal for 2009 to read 75 books and I figured this class would help me reach that.
I love to read and enjoy creative writing, especially blogging (if blogging can be considered creative writing. I believe it can.) I watch all kinds of movies and my favorite is The Godfather. I enjoy taking pictures and organizing them into collages or scrapbooks. I really love animals. I currently have two cats but want a whole zoo whenever I grow up.
Hmmm...what else? I grew up a Tar Heel and have been to Final Fours, bowl games, and the College World Series every time our teams have gone since I was born. I really had no choice in coming to Carolina (I would have it no other way :).) I don't really have a hometown (born in Fayetteville, NC, my parents now live in Hickory, NC, and I've lived in 13 places besides).
Oh and my own blog is linked from my little profile if you click on my name. So, that's that.

Hey there everybody
Hi Everyone! My name is Carly Stephenson, and I'm a sophomore journalism major at Carolina. Someday I plan to work either as a reporter, director, or technical director in the news business. Because students in the journalism school begin their major in their second year of college, this is the first year I can take classes in the journalism school. So far my classes have been great and learning about technical equipment in the studio and broadcasting has been fantastic! This past semester, I worked with WCHL as an intern reporter during the week. Reporting with this local station gave me on-air experience and taught me how to write for radio.
Other than journalism, I have a passion for the performing arts. In high school, I was involved in numerous musical theatre and theatre productions. I'm currently in Carolina Choir, an auditioned class that meets four times a week. I'm also a member of Phi Beta Chi, the Christian sorority here on campus. Recruitment is next week if anyone is interested; there are two interest meetings in the union to check us out before things start!
I was raised in Charlotte, NC, and hope to secure a job somewhere close by after graduation. My favorite colors are pink and blue, and my Starbucks Latte order is probably longer than yours. On a side note, I have adorable 10 year old toy poodle named Babydoll. She's one of those dogs you see walking around in fashionable dog coats, but she refuses to wear hair bows or booties. My mom is the one who dresses the dog, although I think it can be cute.
I'm taking this class because I enjoy English classes in general, and like reading 19th and 20th century works. Also, it fulfills the Literary Arts requirement for graduation. I look forward to getting to know everyone in the class. Have a safe but fun long weekend!
