Alexis' the Name

*Marie's the Name is an Elvis Presley song.

Hello! My name is Alexis Rabin and I am a freshman at UNC. I am originally from NJ and I absolutely love the south. UNC was my first choice school and I almost cried of joy when I got in. I have a twin brother who also got accepted here, but instead attends the University of Virginia. We are fairly close and still talk a lot, but he is a boy, and unless I call him first, I would never hear from him. I love football, especially the New York Giants. I spend a lot of time in New York shopping and spending time with family and enjoying all the opportunities the city has to offer. In my spare time I used to love to run, but recent injuries like breaking my ankle, then my toe, then rupturing a disc in my back have made me cut back on such activities. I also love listening to music. My favorite artists include the Fray, the Goo Goo Dolls, John Mayer, and of course, Elvis Presley. I recently discovered I loved to read my senior year in school when I found myself intrigued by books my brother was reading for AP literature. My dad is a lawyer, who reads every article from every tri-state newspaper, along with his legal cases, and my mom is an accountant. I hopefully will be a journalism major with a specialty in public relations because I love meeting new people and discussing common interests. I too, like Mattie, don’t like the cold weather, or anything involving the cold weather, even though it snows and freezes yearly where I live. My parents too hate the cold weather; shoveling, scraping, dusting, our car and home is a hassle every winter season. The Jersey Shore is more likely where you’ll find me. I also wanted to mention that my favorite color is yellow, of which I think says a lot about a person. Yellow implies happiness, and most of the time I am smiling and bright. I am very bubbly and excited for everything life has to offer. I try to notice the details of everything and never take moments in my life for granite.
