Hey Everybody!

Hey there. My name is Jackie Tennant. I'm a sophomore here at UNC, but I originally hail from Chicago, IL. I was a psychology major, but have recently switched to exercise and sports science. I signed up for this class as an elective merely because I loved my english courses in high school and, until now, had yet to have the opportunity to take one at UNC. I chose this course, specifically, because many of my favorite authors are Americans whom wrote during the same era such as Faulkner, Steinbeck, and Twain. I also enjoy dystopian themed books like 1984, Animal Farm, and Brave New World. As far as interesting facts about myself go, I just returned from studying abroad in Lancaster, UK, where I took courses in psychology and criminology. I'm also a very active and 'outdoorsy' person so most of my hobbies revolve around sports. For instance, I'm a new member of the UNC Marathon club and am looking forward to running my first marathon in April. I'm also training to be an expediation leader with the Outdoor Education Center. I hope everyone enjoys this and their other classes this semester!
